Well Lee another Reserve friendly, tell us about it

Lee RichardsonWe drew 0-0 and it gave us an opportunity to give a game to some players that needed it and to look at some of the younger players and two trialists. It was a good work-out and it provided us with what we needed by looking at the players we wanted to. The game was a bit scrappy with few clear cut chances but keenly contested and played in the right spirit.

York had a fairly strong side out with a few players coming back from injury and included transfer target Clayton Donaldson but we understand we might be a bit late on that one. Roy's been in touch with Billy (McEwan) over the season about him so it was interesting to see him play.

It also gave some more minutes on the field for Jamie Lowry, which is a real plus for us so he's taking steps to being back in contention. Josh Law did really well last week so we gave him the second half and he did well again. The other two younger players are both left sided, Paul Roome is a left back and Ben Algar also came in and did well today.

Janos Kovacs played the full ninety minutes

With Reuben Hazell ruled out of Saturday's game it was good for him to get some match practice action against Clayton Donaldson and their other striker who was very physical.

The team included a defensive trialist and a midfielder anything to say there?

We don't really want publicity with trialists, its up to the player really if they want to be named. We were very impressed by one of the trialists and we are hopeful that something might happen before the transfer window closes.

Any others?

At the moment no. But we have made a number of enquiries and things may happen, but this is the one that is most likely to happen probably within the next twenty four hours.
