Well a cracking game and another win over a Championship reserve side?

A good work out and a deserved win over a Championship reserve side

Tell us about the goal

It was slightly fortuitous Michael Standing charged the ball down and get in behind the defence. His cross was deflected back to him and he then played the across to Reuben Wiggins-Thomas to tap in from a couple of yards.

Wolves had chances

Davies the Wolves striker had a couple of one on ones and Michael Jordan saved well and the whole back four defended well. We have been working with them and Josh Law did well at right back, Phil Picken had a real battle at left back against Lewis Coburn. Janos and Jamie Lowery worked well together. Janos again did very very well and is next in line if anything happens to Reuben Hazell and Aaron Downes and we are comfortable in the knowledge that he can come in and do a job. Jamie Lowry's a super footballer and he's got bags of potential and he's developing really well.

The midfield did well

Both Michael Standing and Gareth Davies did well and Michaels an accomplished player who's good in possession and he's added to squad and another player we can rely on to come in if needed. Out wide we had Jamie Jackson and Adam Smith who are both exciting and equally frustrating at times. Both have lots of work to do on awareness but both have the ability but they need to be aware of other players around them and understand movement off the ball.

Jake Williams made a reserve debut

He's a young lad who's scoring goals for the youth team so it was good to have a look at him. We also brought on James O'Brian who's a strong wiry type of player a bit in the Chris Brandon mould and they both acquitted themselves well. But two wins over Championship teams is good for confidence and we are hoping to arrange another game for next week.
