DAVE Bentley spoke exclusively to SPIREITES WORLD after the Youth team's 2-0 win over Boston United. Read what Dave had to say right here

Dave BentleyWell Dave still top of the League. Your thoughts on the game?

Not particularly pleased with the performance, but pleased that we ground out a good result against difficult opposition at stages in the game. We set off sloppily and then got into the game and scored after a long throw was flicked on by Jackson and Challinor showed great composure going round a defender and sticking it in the corner for us. We went in 1-0 up and tried to sort a few things out at half-time and I think we played more like we can play in the second half. We got our just reward when Bull was upended after more good work again by Jackson.

Some great moments in defence a good save and a goal line clearance

We mentioned that at half time that we had led a charmed life to be fair in the first half.

Second half they seemed more at ease. Were they nervous with a large crowd being present?

Possibly, it's a new experience for them to play in front of a few people and it's something they will have to get used to.  I think the more the game progressed we played better and I know they can play better than that. But we are pleased we kept a clean sheet and won the game and got another three points on the board.

You asked for the public to come and have a look and they have.  You must have been pleased with the attendance?

Yes fantastic, and it's very much appreciated. The lads were saying at half-time what a good crowd it was and we are very grateful for the public for showing an interest in the youth team and hopefully they will comeback for our next home game.

Can you expect to remain unbeaten?

Well that's our goal to remain unbeaten. Realistically we know that somewhere on the along the line we could slip up but our target is to remain unbeaten, which would be an amazing achievement by everybody and we may have to grind some more results out

When's your next game?

Our next League game is away at Grimsby next Saturday then we have a week off which will give us the opportunity to work on a few things in training. We also have an U18 cup game this Tuesday 7.00pm kick off away at Meadow Lane against  Notts County in the Midland Youth Cup.  However, four of the boys who helped us beat Boston are over age and ineligible to play so we will be missing Jackson, Bunn, Lowrey and Foyle for that game. But that gives the younger lads a chance to play and show us what they can do. After Grimsby we have a fortnight's break and are back at Saltergate on 29 October for a league game against Darlington, kick-off 12 noon.
