YOUTH FOOTBALL CHANGES
The Football League Youth Alliance has been radically changed for the 2005-06 season so teams get more games and less travelling time.
It has been split into just two leagues in the north of England - the North and Midlands East Conference and the North and Midlands West Conference.
Chesterfield has been grouped in the North and Midlands East Conference, which is made up from the following clubs:-
Boston United, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Darlington, Doncaster Rovers, Grismby Town, Hartlepool United, Hull City, Lincoln City, Mansfield Town, Notts County, Rotherham United, Scunthorpe United and York City.
The clubs will now play each other on a home and away basis, which gives each club 26 fixtures for the season.
Last season's format of Merit Divisions after the initial Conference games had finished has been done away with.
There will still be a national cup competition, which will be played on a straight knock-out basis with a north/south split.
The apprentices at Chesterfield report back for pre-season training next Monday under youth team manager, Dave Bentley.
