In our last Merit League fixture we traveled to Wigan Athletic and came away with a defeat. We started sloppy on a hot morning but could have gone in front on one minute when Bunn played Thorpe through but was blocked.

On 27 minutes a cross from the left was mis-kicked on the back post by Wright and the Wigan flank player fired home from eight yards out.  Lancaster then broke from midfield to hit the side netting on 30 minutes.  Wigan then had a good chance to make the score 2-0 but mis-kicked on the back post.  A very inept performance with my two centre backs having a bad time.

Fox was just wide from a free kick on the left just after the kick off. We then conceded a second goal 14 minutes into the second half when Taylor missed the first header Johnson didn't react and the striker went clear to score past Dinnigan. 

Two changes were made with Johnson and Taylor coming off to be re-placed by Law and Bull two under 16 players.  Fox was then brought down on 29 minutes inside the box the penalty being scored by Bunn 2-1.  A very inept performance and well below our standards for the season.
