A deflected 93rd minute shot from left-back Ben Algar earned Chesterfield a point at Warminster Road in a scrappy game.

York took the lead on 13 minutes from a header via a corner I believe, as the game was conducted in heavy fog throughout the first-half. The Minstermen had numerous chances in the second-half but were unable to finish.

Chesterfield were forced into an early change when Ross Burns had to leave the field with an ankle injury. Our best chances fell to Josh Lowe and Jake Williams, but both players were unable to beat the York 'keeper. Midfielder's Adam Smith and Craig Clay put in good performances, plus Tendaya Darikwa looked lively up front when introduced as a sub.

Chesterfield: Whatsize, Burns (Bearder 20), Algar, Smith, Holmes, Muller, Clay, Gray, Williams, Bowery (Darikwa 63), Lowe.

Subs not used: Adcock, Clare.

Booked: Williams 38, Gray 70.
