The final outcome, which was irrelevant to the real purpose of the match, was a five nil victory in a game dominated by the visitors.

In period one Doncaster Rovers chose to field their full first team, which not surprisingly created a significant mismatch between the two sides.  Goals from Jason Price, Mark McCammon, and James Coppinger, during this period set the visitors on their way against a Chesterfield side, which included three trialists.

The second period ended 0-0 and in the third 30 minute period the visitors scored a couple of late goals through Gareth Taylor and Paul Heffernan to add to the final scoreline.

Chesterfield line-up:  Michael Jordan, Brendan Moloney, Trialist, Kevin Gray, Alan O'Hare, Adam Smith, Derek Niven, Kevin Cooper, Trialist (sub Alex Winfield 80), Jamie Ward. Trialist (sub Jordan Bowery 75).

Game played Tuesday 26 February 2008.
