Chesterfield's Youth Team secured a point courtesy of a Michael Bearder penalty against Bradford City in a game played at Warminster Road on Saturday morning. The team had a number of regulars absent through injury, plus were denied the services of Jake Williams and Ben Algar - who were called up to the first-team squad.

The draw, Chesterfield's third in their last four games was hard fought and the Blues were unlucky to be denied a win after the Bantams scored six minutes from time. Chesterfield grew in confidence as the game progressed, Dan Gary had a bright game in midfield and was supported by the excellent defending of Michael Bearder and Sam Smith. The front two of Jordan Bowery and Alex Winfield worked hard and it was Winfield who was pulled down for the penalty. The Spireites had long range shots by Adam Smith and Dan Gray saved, but almost doubled their advantage in the 81st minute when substitute Lloyd broke clear and chipped the on rushing keeper only to see his effort go narrowly wide.
