The Spireites reserves side were in action with a reserve team friendly against Huddersfield Town and came out 2-1 winners with goals from Adam Smith and Jamie Jackson.

Huddersfield took the lead after fifteen minutes through former Spireite Luke Beckett. 

Chesterfield knuckled down in windy and cold conditions at Huddersfield's training ground and equalised five minutes before the break.

 Adam Smith scored, what can best be described as a cultured curler, after he had run down the right, cut in and fired into the top corner.

Midway through the second half, after a change of formation from 4.4.2 to 4.3.3, Chesterfield deservedly took the lead. 

This time Jamie Jackson was the scorer and it was another fine individual effort.  He controlled the ball, dinked past a couple of defenders before neatly tucking the ball past theTerriers 'keeper.

Along with Luke Beckett was another former Spireite, with Chris Brandon also in the Huddersfield line-up.

Chesterfield included a French trialist in defence, along with Aaron Downes, who was getting in his first ninety minutes since fully recovering from a virus picked up on recent Australian international duty in the Far East.
