Midfielder Jamie Winter scored the only goal for Chesterfield in a friendly training game this week, which Nottingham Forest won 3-1.

It proved to be a well-deserved consolation after Forest had taken a 3 nil lead with goals from first choice strikers Scott Dobie (1) and Grant Holt (2). Forest also included Northern Ireland international midfielder Neil Lennon in their line-up.

The game was played at Nottingham Forest's training ground and gave Chesterfield the opportunity to give squad players useful match practice.

Six key first team players were not involved on this occasion. They were:- Barry Roche and Jamie Ward (rested), Peter Leven and Aaron Downes (unwell), Felix Bastians (knock), and Jack Lester (ankle).

The rest of the squad all managed to get a slice of the action.

The training game provided a good work out ahead of a blank weekend and the lead up to next week's local-derby against Rotherham United next Wednesday.
