With no league fixture this weekend the Spireites had a training game against Mansfield Town on Friday to keep themselves in trim.

The game, played at Field Mill, was hastily arranged after Nottingham Forest pulled out of an arranged fixture late on.

Chesterfield mixed and matched to give all squad members some match action.  Jamie Lowry returned from injury to get in a useful 30 minutes.

The outcome of the game, played in two 40 minute halves, was a 3-0 win for the Spireites, but the result was less important than the aim of keeping the lads match fit.

Goalscorers were Adam Smith , Felix Bastians and Jack Lester .

Manager Lee Richardson said: "We thank Mansfield manager Billy Deardon for arranging this training game at late notice and it served its purpose for both clubs."
