CHIEF: A GAME AGAINST QUALITY OPPOSITION
It was good and served a purpose for both clubs. For us it was another game in Wardy's comeback for them it was a game to keep them match sharp in the International break.
Martin Riley, a trialist, did well again but he lacks a bit of fitness at the moment. It was also good for Gaz Davies to have a run out as he was cup-tied with Stalybridge so didn't have a game at the weekend.
Wardy played about seventy minutes and is starting to look sharp and I am sure he will be featuring in the first team soon. The Owls put out a strong side with Franny Jeffers, Kavanagh, Burton, and Johnson .
The side was virtually their first team in the first half and we ended up 2-0 down after goals from Jermaine Johnson and Deon Burton. They swapped things around in the second half and got another goal.
But it was a game against quality opposition and it was interesting but we all stuck at it, which is what these games are all about.
Chesterfield team: Michael Jordan, Michael Bearder, George Santos, trialist, Alan O'Hare (sub Paul Roome 80), Jamie Jackson, Gareth Davies (sub Josh Lowe 80), Dan Gray, Ben Algar, Wayne Allison, Jamie Ward (sub Jake Williams 70).
