With Thomas Cooper-Richards missing, he unfortunately sustained a cruciate ligament injury in last week's 3-2 defeat against Boston United, The Spireites enjoyed the best of the first half but Adam J Smith saw an early close ranger well saved by the keeper and Ben Algar hit an excellent shot to hit the upright.

Michael Bearder limped off with a groin injury before the break, after it the game was scrappy, Jordan Bowery and Cameron Fearon were both unable to control close in as Mansfield finished the stronger side.

Next match is on Monday 8th October at Saltergate in the Midland Youth Cup against Cheltenham Town.
