A former player with the Australian Institute of Sport, Aaron joined the Spireites after trials with Bolton Wanderers and a short spell at Frickley Athletic. A centre half with excellent ball skills, Chesterfield remained patient while he became accustomed to life in England and English football, and the club's investment is beginning to pay a handsome dividend. 

He toured South America with the Australian U20 team and also represented his country in the summer of 2005 in the FIFA World Youth Cup. His international career continues to develop and Chesterfield may lose him to Australia's Olympic qualification commitments during 2007-8 after he played in a couple of qualifiers for the "Olyroos," scoring against Iran in May.

Despite being relegated in 2007, Chesterfield's defensive record stood comparison with many League One clubs. Aaron's continued improvement was in part responsible for that fact. His ground work has usually been tidy but his heading developed significant power, and he weighed in with five goals last term, mostly from set pieces. Happily, Aaron signed an extension to his contract during the summer of 2007.
