Well Kevan your back at Saltergate, how do you feel about that?

Kevan HurstI am very happy to be back with all the guys again and everything is buzzing.

What happened when you went back to Sheffield United?

Nothing much really, they were pushing on for promotion and I didn't get a run out. I felt that even if United were in the Championship that I would not get a good regular run in the side. So I thought it would be good to be playing regular first team football again this season. I do have the security of a long term contract at United so hopefully I will really be pushing for a first team place next season. Then, if that doesn't work out, obviously I will have to reassess things then.

Chesterfield faced competition for your loan deal

Yes, Colin Todd had been enquiring about me for a while and Scunthorpe were interested but after what happened with Billy Sharp Neil Warnock would not let me go there.  There were a few other interested clubs according to my agent but I told my agent that if Chesterfield could match Bradford's offer I would prefer to comeback here where I am settled adn it is my home town team. So in the end I really felt coming back to Chesterfield was a better move for me. I am just happy to be back to be honest.

What did you learn from last season?

Awareness really of league football. I learnt a lot attacking wise from the Chief and defensively from Shinner. I feel a lot stronger now so hopefully I can perform more consistently throughout games.

What was your highlight of last season?

The goal at Bristol, it's got to be that goal I really enjoyed that one. Hopefully I can pop a few more in, I got six last season but I am aiming for double figures.

What about this season

I think we have a strong squad with a lot of quality in it. What we have to do is keep our shape more and perform more consistently throughout the season and that is something the squad is working on.

Where do you prefer to play?

I really prefer playing on the left and Rico's been working with me to get out wide and passed players instead of cutting in which should give me a bit more variety.

Paul Shaw's a familiar face for you at Saltergate what do you know about him

I have played with Paul a lot in the United reserves, he's a different class and a real quality signing and I am really looking forward to playing with him again.

Any games you're looking forward to

Swansea away.  After a disappointing result at their place we have to play in front of a hostile crowd which certainly helped them that day. Hopefully, our home crowd can do the same here at Saltergate. There is no better feeling than hearing your name chanted on the kop or the supporters really getting behind the lads and the team. It gives me something extra and the adrenaline really start to flows. I suppose a message to the supporters is to keep on cheering.
