"The Gaffer approached me and told me he wants me to get fit fast.  As we don't have a reserve league and play only a couple of reserve games a month I need to go out and play some games.  I've met the Stalybridge lads including former Spireite Steve Payne and the manager Steve Burr. I've trained properly this week but I had a setback on Tuesday when my toe started hurting. That delayed the loan deal to Stalybridge but it's all set now. I got the injury when I went into a tackle with my good friend Andy Richmond in the pre-season game at Matlock.  I just got caught underneath his boot and I've been recovering ever since".

"I have been working with Shinner (Shane Nicholson) and just starting with upper body weight moving onto ballwork and I'm hoping to step it up by playing some games. I'm looking forward to it as I get to play quite a few games, I'm not match fit so I need matches with Stalybridge. I've been unlucky with injuries, first my finger, then I hurt my hip and now my toe but I try to get on with it.   I get some stick from the lads and it's a pain in the backside".

"The Gaffer doesn't want me cup-tied so I play hopefully Saturday then Tuesday. The following Saturday is the cup game so a little break then may be good for me so I don't over compensate. All I want to do is play and it's frustrating".

"I'm one of Chesterfield's longest serving players after Allott left. Alan O'Hare and I were talking about it the other day that we have now been here the longest. May 2002 was when I signed my first pro contract".

"With such a small squad it's vital we all stay fit, hopefully no-one gets injured but if they do my chance could come begging and I'll come back and do well for Chesterfield".
