The goal's been due; its my fifth game, now. Jack's been getting all the plaudits, which is brilliant, because he is a natural goal scorer, but its nice for the other forward to pop in and get the odd goal now and then. Once again, Jack did get on the scoresheet to take the limelight off me a little bit, but if he can keep banging them in and I can chip in, and people like Niv get the odd goal or two, we've got half a chance.

We started well, but the game went in fits and starts, really. The goal lifted us and took us in at half time 1-0 up. But its always on a knife edge at 1-0 and you need that second goal. We didn't get it and went to sleep at a throw in, but to get the goal within a couple of minutes of them equalising was a massive boost and knocked them back a peg or two, and Jack rounded off a good night.

Its still early days. We might have gone top but things can change. We want to keep our feet on the ground. Its nice to get off to a good start but we've got a young team and it'll take people like me, Kev Gray, Rochey and Jack to keep them on level ground. Its good, but its got to be better.

I thought Ben Algar was awesome tonight. For a lad playing his first full game he didn't flag. He came in out of the blue; he's only been training with us a couple of days, really, and I thought he was exceptional tonight. He makes it difficult for people to defend against his crosses and makes it easier for me and Jack. He gets back and does his share, and he's got a massive chance. He's got to keep his feet on the ground but its nice, because there's battles for positions, now.

The Manager has warned us that next week is a massive game for the fans. It might be the be all and end all for some supporters but we've just got to keep on a roll. It'd be nice to get one over on your local rivals but the players just want another victory. It doesn't matter who it is, we just want to keep rolling and make teams fear us. For the fans it's a huge game, though, and hopefully we can go there and win in style.

Don't miss a thing!
