Jack Lester, welcome to Saltergate. How did it come about?

I spoke to Lee and he told me what was happening at the club and what he wanted to do, and it's something I wanted to be involved in. I wanted to stay in the area and the plans they have in place and I'd like to be part of it.

Hopefully a promotion year next year?

Well that's what we've been talking about and the aim of the club is to get into the Championship.

Let's have a look at your career Jack.

I had five years at Grimsby and then I moved to Forest where I stayed for three years and then had a spell at Sheffield United and finally back at Forest.

Jamie Ward will be looking for some service next season.

Hopefully we can get some competition for places and we'll look to get the right balance throughout the team and have good partnerships.

Now you mention that Rico sold the club to you.

I've been having a look at the aspirations of the club, the new ground the possible signings and want to be part of something that is positive and moving in the right direction. I've had few good nights at Saltergate and it's time they moved on but it never put me off and the plans for the new stadium sold it to me.

Were you disappointed that Forest let you go?

It's one of those things but they have to change things around and they needed a reshuffle. They have a lot of strikers at the club and maybe my time was up. I'm not going to look back but look forward to my future with Chesterfield.

You know Barry Roche quite well?

Yes I was at his wedding and I know him well, I also know Paul Shaw and Wayne Allison from my time at Sheffield United.
