The 24 year old former Scottish U21 International and Glasgow Rangers midfielder had turned down an improved contract offer from the Spireites.

Leven joined Chesterfield last season on a free transfer from Kilmarnock and made 44 appearances for the Spireites, scoring 5 goals.

He is Paul Ince's first new capture of the summer.

Meanwhile, there is no news about out-of-contract defender Janos Kovacs for the time being and none is imminent.
