SPIREITES LEGENDS AT GLAPWELL FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

The football stars will figure in a Scott Sellars Legends XI to take on Jamie Walker's Select XI in the climax to the week-long festival at Hall Corner, Glapwell, this Sunday, 4th May 2008, kick-off 3.00pm.

The Scott Sellars Legends XI includes the Spireites assistant manager, along with Peter Beardsley, Nigel Clough, Andy Beasley, Simon Coleman, Ernie Moss, Bob Newton, Bobby McDonald, Andy Kowalski, Danny Wilson, Sean O'Neil, John Seasman, Ces Podd, Nigel Jempson, Ian Woan, Les McJannet, Dave Bentley and many more.
The game is organised by former Stags youngster Jamie Walker, now in remission from cancer, and his former Spireites football star father Phil, and is to raise funds for the King's Mills Haematology Department, the Lymphoma Association and the Lymphoma Research Trust.

The Glapwell football festival begins on Monday 28th April, and will incorporate tournaments involving the club's youth teams throughout the week, with the U11s on the Monday, U12s on Tuesday, U13s on Wednesday and U9s on Thursday.
This is followed on Saturday with Glapwell's final Northern Counties East League match of the season at home to Lincoln Moorlands Railway, when it is hoped they will be celebrating promotion to the UniBond League.
