PRESS HELPERS
Ever since the dark days of 2001 when Chesterfield's name as a club was dragged through the gutter in the National press, we've tried to welcome the current members of the press as much as we can. The matchday facilities may not be the most ideal - cramped and creaky - but at least the view's good!
They always get fed and watered at half time - Sylvia Tooley's home made cake has become legendary in the lower leagues - whilst Phil Tooley always provides the press with a 'crib sheet' of facts and figures to help them maximise their background information.
Geoff Mitchell ensures everyone is seated in the best place to suit their needs and generally the welcome they get is warm and friendly whilst Howard Borrell ensures visitors get their programme and team sheet to aid their work.

It may not be much, but it's a lot more than you get from most at this level.
And congratulations to Dagenham & Redbridge last week, who also gave a terrific welcome to members of the press, as well as an endless supply of wine gums!
