BULLS COMING TO TOWN
Hereford United come to Saltergate on the back of a fine FA Cup third round replay victory over Tranmere Rovers. Simon Johnson scored the only goal of the game in the 72nd minute to see off the League One outfit who'd beaten us in the first round of the competition back in November.
It was the third higher division side Graham Turner's men had beaten in the competition. Big guns Leeds United were seen off in a replay before Danny Wilson's Hartlepool United were KO'd in round two. In addition to that, The Bulls beat another higher side, Yeovil Town, in the Carling Cup, making them very dangerous opponents for the televised encounter.
Almost 6500 saw the Rovers replay last Wednesday night that earned them a home tie with Cardiff City, scheduled for this Saturday, their first visit to Round Four for 16 years. The side that beat Tranmere was:
Brown, McClenahan, Beckwith , Collins , Rose , Johnson , Smith , Diagouraga ,Taylor , Benjamin , Robinson. Subs not used: Ingham, Broadhurst, McCombe, Palmer, Gwynne.

In League Two, Hereford have picked up ten points from their last four fixtures, a 3-1 local derby win over Shrewsbury followed a disappointing goalless draw with Notts County that was preceded by excellent away wins at Bradford City and Macclesfield Town.
Like many in this division, away from home they've been picking up plenty of points. You have to go right back to September to find their last pointless trip, a 2-1 loss at Grimsby Town.
However, they've rarely been successful at Saltergate. It's 33 years since they've won here and Chesterfield have notched up maximum points on Hereford's last seven visits and we have eight wins and a draw in their last nine appearances on our turf. Couple that with our unbeaten record in league
games on Sky TV and we look to have a great chance to end our run of three straight defeats.
Theo Robinson (pictured), on loan from Watford, is their tormentor in chief with a dozen goals whilst Trevor Benjamin is also in double figures.
Like ourselves, United have a potential Beijing Olympian in Aussie Trent McClenahan, an Olyroo colleague of Aaron Downes, and they also have a fully fledged Olympian in fitness coach Tony Ford, who represented GB in weightlifting in the 1972 games in Munich.
