Nottinghamshire Police have this week warned fans of both Mansfield Town and Chesterfield that they will not tolerate any disorder in the build-up to the local derby on Saturday 15th September.

The match kicks off at midday at Field Mill, and Mansfield Police will be liasing closely with all pubs and bars in the Mansfield area in order to monitor the behaviour of both Mansfield Town and Chesterfield fans, and will deal with any disturbances or trouble quickly and positively.

Police are also warning Chesterfield fans not to travel to the game unless they already have a ticket, as Chesterfield's ticket allocation has already sold out and it will be impossible to get one on the day of the match.

Measures have been put in place to prevent Chesterfield supporters buying tickets in the home stands, and any Chesterfield fans that are spotted in Mansfield Town areas will be ejected from the ground. There will be no transfers to other parts of the ground.

Ch Insp Mark Holland, who will be match day commander for the game, said: "I would advise Chesterfield fans who haven't already got a ticket to simply not bother travelling to the game, as they won't be able to get into the ground. If anyone does travel without a ticket, we will take that as an inference that they are there to cause trouble.

"There will be a heavy police presence to allow those Chesterfield fans with tickets to travel to and from the ground in a safe and pleasant environment and to enjoy the match.

"We will be monitoring the behaviour of both sets of fans before, during and after the game, and will not tolerate any disorder."
