Chesterfield took the lead with in form right midfielder Catherine Davie crowning a superb move with a crisp finish. The home team battled back and after 10 minutes leveled the score, this event spurred Chesterfield to raise their game and it was Hayley Manners who dribbled past three defenders then unleashed a scorching shot past the bemused Cambridge.

The visitors held the lead until seconds before half time when a deflection from a corner gave Cambridge a surprise equalizer. The home team visibly lifted by their late goal started the second half strongly but thanks to superb defending by the Blues back four of Sarah Loftus, Jade Boulton, Grace Whittaker, and Aime Brennan aided by supreme goalkeeping from Emily Love, the Blues managed to weather the storm.

Chesterfield began to get back on top and were rewarded in the 60th minute when Busy striker Hayley Manners  put through by Kirsty Gibson struck the ball into the back of the net for her second and Chesterfields third goal. The Blues were now well on top and crowned another good performance with the goal of the game.

The celebrations then began to take place following another fine display from the under 16's.

The under 14's were unlucky to come away from Cambridge with nothing after a terrific team           performance. They matched their opposition in all areas with Suzie Gelson and Amber Wildgust playing out of position in defence and gelling well together and denying Cambridge any joy down their left flank. Chesterfield's Hannah Dutton was looking composed on the ball in mid-field moving the ball well and hitting some fine pinpoint passes. Just before the break Chesterfield were served a cruel blow when conceding a goal which was lofted high and goalkeeper Paulette Spencer was unsighted by the wintry sun for the ball to drop behind. 1-0

2nd Third

Chesterfield was playing some of their best football so far this season as they had a good 15 minutes as they pinned back their opposition and piled on continuous pressure. Mellisa Wilcockson was teaming up well with Ruby Burns and produced some goal scoring chances from numerous quality crosses. Chesterfield were wanting to much time on the ball in front of goal and were unable to fire that final trigger as they were quickly closed down. Cambridge counter attacked a couple of times and produced goal bound shots which were denied by spectacular diving saves by quality keeper Paulette Spencer. 0-0

3rd Third

The final 30 minutes saw substitution Lauren Powell come on and immediately inject some tempo into the Chesterfield game. At the back Grace Newbold was bossing the right side of defence with Harriet Flint doing a terrific job as captain. A number of changes were made as Chesterfield went looking for the equaliser. Laura O'Neil came on at right back, which released Amber Wildgust into mid-field. Chesterfield was doing everything right but in the final third of the pitch they were unable to pull that final trigger. Final score 1-0 with Hannah Dutton collecting the player of the match award. A great team performance well done!

Chesterfields under 12's were involved in their most difficult game of the season but came home with a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal of the highest quality. Diminutive midfielder Emily Montgomery went on a dazzling run down the right flank leaving a trail of beaten defenders in her path then delivered a cross into the centre which was met be top scorer Rosie Hayes who executed a superb side foot volley which crashed into the top corner of the net.

Ella Ritchie, and Alice Clarke were excellent in the centre of midfield and the latter just shaved the player of the match award from defender Laura O Neill whose tackles were at times truly awesome and representative of a player with a big future in the game.

Goalkeeper Sophie Baggley again produced some excellent saves for the visitors who were value for the win with yet another excellent performance.

Coach Stewart Rowley was pleased with the display " It was encouraging that against the best team we have played so far this season Alice Clarke, Alice Walker, Ella Ritchie, and Kirby Hunt were still able to deliver their personal best performances of the season  "
