Football was the winner as Chesterfield under 12's continued their impressive form with a 4-2 victory against Lincoln City.

 

Rosie Hay crowned a good performance with 2 well taken goals followed by quality finishes by the industrious Ella Ritchie and Chief Lincoln tormentor Emily Montgomery

 

Chesterfield took the lead after 10 minutes when Hayes stabbed the ball home from short range.

The Imps pulled a goal back in the second period with a smart finish from right wing corner.

 

Chesterfield played some delightful football with Emily Montgomery in the thick of the action tricking and teasing the Lincoln defence.

 

Ella Ritchie having her best game for the Centre put the game beyond the visitors reach dribbling past two defenders then slotting the ball home.

 

The blues defended well with Laura O Neill and Kashlie Johnson in outstanding form.

 

Star midfielder Emily Montgomery made it 4-1 with 2 minutes remaining.

 

It was another superb performance from Chesterfield who remain unbeaten this season.

 

The under 16's achieved a fine 2-1 victory with Kirsty Gibson star of the show with a terrific display. Emily love had an outstanding game at left back as the Blues held on to the three points.

Chesterfield under 16's were quick out of the blocks and were one goal to the good within a minute. Nicole Dale's left wing cross Kirsty Gibson who under a lot of pressure delivered an exquisite pass to newly signed Hayley Manners who coolly slotted the ball home from short range.

 

It took a while for Lincoln to compose themselves but the Blues were unable to take advantage of their hesitancy... Nicole Dale and Catherine Davie were tearing down the wings giving the Lincoln full backs a torrid time. Home keeper Amy Page had to make a few good saves to maintain the chesterfield lead going into the break.

 

Lincoln came out for the second half livelier and started to test the Chesterfield defence. Their efforts were rewarded 30 min's into the second half when the Imp's beat the second half keeper Paulette Spencer.

 

Emma Wilkinson carved out a series of chances which were spurned by the Blues strikers. With 7 minutes remaining Grace Whitaker delivered a fine pass into the feet of Kirsty Gibson who in turn found Catherine Davie who dribbled past three players before slotting the ball home for a deserved chesterfield victory.

 

The under 14's scored first but were largely second best to a fine Lincoln City team.
