One of very few Saturday games took place at Brookfield this weekend.

Blues striker Rosie Hay hit a hat trick as Chesterfield Girls Centre of Excellence Under12's beat the rain and local rivals Notts County by 4 goals to 2.

Emily Montgomery was superb in centre midfield as with careful use of the ball she carved out a host of chances for the busy home forwards.

Fine defensive performances from goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley and defenders Kale Johnson and Laura O Neill kept Notts County to 2 goals as the visitors more than played their part in the best game of football seen at this level this season.

Centre Director Stewart Rowley was delighted with the performance "Everyone on the pitch played their part in a game of football which was exciting from beginning to end and a fine advert for Centre of Excellence football"

Chesterfield under 14's continued their impressive run of form with a 0-0 draw against one of the best under 14 teams in the league. It was a terrific game where every Chesterfield player gave 100% battling throughout the game on a heavy sticky pitch. A game which was end to end stuff with both sides having their chances, but Chesterfield keeper Paulette Spencer was the difference pulling off some fine saves and looking confident throughout. Defence was also outstanding thanks to the ever improving Grace Newbold, and Lauren Jubb.

The under 16's competed well but some poor decisions were to prove costly as they eventually suffered a 5-1 defeat.
