The first phase ended 0-0 with both sides defending in numbers and making it difficult for the strikers.

Norwich stepped up a gear in the second period and were rewarded with 3 goals. Chesterfield in only their second competitive game of the season found their feet in the 3rd period playing some neat attractive football.

Laura O Neill moved from defence into midfield slotted home from short range only 1 minute into the restart, she quickly followed up with a sizzling shot from 25 yards which flew past the bewildered home keeper. The Blues continued to bombard the Norwich defence and gained a deserved equalizer when Lauren Powell lofted an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net from fully 30 yards.

Head Coach Stewart Rowley was delighted with the third phase performance "We have now discovered our best shape and the players have realised the advantages of moving the ball quickly"

The under 14's and 16's displayed tremendous battling qualities but both went down to heavy score lines against their more experienced opponents.
