Ashfield School, Kirkby-In-Ashfield which will be the venue for a Girls Football Development Centre launched this week by Chesterfield Football Club Girl's Centre of Excellence.

The Centre of Excellence identifies players of outstanding ability within an hours traveling distance of Chesterfield and is governed by the Football Association and recognised as the official structured pathway to international football.

Local coach Stewart Rowley was appointed Centre Director in May 2005 and was delighted to launch a Development Centre in Chesterfield and North Nottinghamshire.  " Both areas has some tremendous players we can identify to play at a higher level , and for aspiring footballers this could be the first rung on the ladder because as well as discovering elite players the Centre will provide opportunities for new players to join Charter Standard clubs "

The Chesterfield F.C. Girls Football Development Centre  will operate in term time on Friday evenings 5.45pm-6.45pm starting on Friday June 9th, 2006 and will provide an opportunity for beginners and existing club players aged 5-11 to be coached by the Centre of Excellence staff  who  will  monitor  their progress and provide pathways into club football and if appropriate the Centre of Excellence

.Admission fee is £2.20 payable on the night.
