2nd Period (M.K Dons 3 v Chesterfield 2)
The second period was Chesterfields best as they raised the tempo and played some quick passing football which M.K Dons where having trouble in dealing with. Again Chesterfield created chances the best coming from a long ball down the middle from April Bingham which found Amy Gavuzzi who's shot re-bounded from the keeper only for Sharni Hall's shot to go inches wide. Half way through the second period a pass back was poorly dealt with and into the path of Chesterfield's Amy Gavuzzi who was going to make no mistake to close the gap to 3 - 2.
3rd Period (M.K Dons 5 v Chesterfield 2)
Chesterfield were caught napping and the hard work of the second period was soon undone as M.K Dons increased their lead. Chesterfield's Nicole Dale was yet again having an outstanding game in mid-field and her link up play with April Bingham on the right flank was a joy to watch. Both Katie McBride and Jasmin Kerin had good games in the middle of the park, and goalkeeper Helen Greenhalgh made a series of brave saves. The Spireites spurned several chances with shots going straight into the keeper and a Mollie Brennan header just shaving the cross bar. In the final minute's Chesterfield were caught out at the back and M.K Dons sealed the win with a well-taken goal.
Summary.
Despite the score-line Chesterfield girls can take away many positives as they created many chances had more than their fare share of possession and played some fine football. But it was one of those days when things were not going to go your way and they were unlucky not to capatalise on the many chances that they created.
Chesterfield's player of the match went to the impressive Nicole Dale.
