We knew before the game that we were in a battle. It was important to get something from the game and we did enough to deserve to take a point, but the goal they scored was a quality goal. I'm disappointed for the lads because they did bounce back well in the second half.

They were; with the first one we expected the guy to shoot and didn't anticipate the cross, and got done on that back post. With thesecond one Holmesy might have showed him inside but didn't, and tried to nick the ball, but the lad put a tremendous cross in, and the height on that back post did us.

It was much improved after Hall came on, and you must be disappointed that you didn't ram home the advantage from our extra pressure?

We had our breaks and our opportunities. We were in the ascendancy but we took our foot off the pedal a little bit.

I wouldn't say I definitely know; what we need to do is to start picking up points, and Hally's come on and scored a good goal.

The ball hit him under the eye. He had double vision and could only see out of the one eye, so he's off to hospital now. We think there might be a bit of bleeding under the eye.

How did Aaron Downes - ever-present and training with the Aussie team - take the news that he was being left out?

Like a man. That's the way it is. I chose those two boys to go in there hoping they'd provide a bit more experience, and for 95 % of the game it worked for us, but they caught us with an excellent cross and a good goal.

Every game between now and the end of the season is important. Today's game was important and we've lost it, so we've got to move on. We've got fifteen games to rectify it.
