LEE: WE HAVE SIGNED A PLAYER
In this Spireites World TV exclusive after the Notts County game manager Lee Richardson reveals the Spireites are set to make their first summer signing
Again we dominated the first half and somehow after another mistake we end up coming in 1-0 down. We created several really good chances but credit to the players for keeping on going and equalising and really they should have finished the job off. I don't think anybody with a fair mind could say we didn't deserve all three points today.
But that's happened all too often this season and that's why the seasons finished a bit flat. We have gifted the opposition to many goals this seasons we usually gift the goal after being in front. By my estimations we have lost twenty two points after being a goal ahead and then allowing the opposition back in. There is no doubt that a soft belly's cost us this season. But on a positive some of our football was excellent today.
I would just like to place on record my thanks to all the supporters to both the Rico outs and Rico Barmy Army and which ever side of the fence they fall on I thank them for there support. The Rico out chants inspire us more and make me in particular more determined to bring success to Chesterfield Football Club.
Yes we finished eighth in a league of twenty four so that's a half decent season. Nott's County's goal came after we had played a team off the park but before the goal there five to ten minutes of Rico Out which just confuses the players who were playing some decent football at the time.
Although I accept the criticism you have to feel that if everyone is pulling together to get the result on the day it would be more helpful especially to the younger players. But this season gone and we have to bring in better players and we signed a player on a pre-contract agreement yesterday, who I think will come in and make us stronger. Full details will b revealed at the Player of the Year Awards evening on Sunday night.
