LEE: CLEARLY THE BETTER SIDE
"I think it's the third or fourth time this season where we've been clearly the better side it's a smash and grab win for Grimsby. I felt there was a foul on Downes on the lead up to the goal but having said that there was 45 minutes still to go to get the win. The penalty incident Aaron felt he was fouled on the build up but the ref thought other wise. Sometimes as we are attacking it seems we are vunerable on the break."
"It now appears that most sides are trying the smash and grab raids when they are away from home. Apart from one draw the rest of the results in League Two were all away wins, which seems to say something."
"The Grimsby management thought we were excellent today but it's difficult when your playing at home and we were good to be critical is harsh but we have to dust ourselves down. Jamie Wards effort which hit the post and it could have been a different story, Grimsbys goal changed the match in effect and made us up the pressure on ourselves."
"Michael Barnes is a player who will take time to settle in, he needs to learn, he reminds me much of Jamie Burt who was very raw and it's difficult for him but he can make a contribution. I'm disappointed to lose home or away, we were the better team but again I'm talking about a defeat.
"In response to Tuesday's performance I thought our crowd were excellent, they got behind the side and a point would have been something well achieved in the end and not least of what we deserved."
