We are delighted with the response we have had from the players since the Accrington game. Today was a strange game we were in complete control but wasteful once again and really a sense of deja vu by not taking enough of our chances. Buy we still felt comfortable until they pulled a goal back and then panic seemed to set in with one or two of our players.

In the first half we missed too many chances for comfort Jamie Ward missed two one on ones and Derek Niven and Adam Rooney contrived to miss from close range. But 2-0 was acceptable at half-time and we continued to look comfortable until conceding a soft goal from a corner.

I have to say that I think our supporters have to be aware that no team can play fantastic football every week and win comfortably at home. There is a lot to be said by grinding out results like we did today. Away from home its accepted that with ten minutes to go the balls kicked over the stand its part and parcel of seeing the game through. That shouldn't really change at home. Wrexham gambled by playing three up front and they penned us in so it wasn't pretty and it was hairy and scary at times, but thanks to our goalkeeper we saw it through, and got the three points.

At times like today in the second half it's when we really need the fans to get behind the team. I can understand frustrations but footballs all about winning and you cannot play free flowing football all of the time. Today we have won a game that in previous weeks we would have drawn or even lost. Supporters can have a really positive influence if they get behind the team occasionally some of the younger players you can see visibly cave a little bit and they need that little bit of extra encouragement that the fans can give them.

We now have four days to prepare for Saturdays home game against Grimsby and we want to keep the winning run going.
