"I'm very proud of the players: I thought the performance was excellent. We thoroughly deserved it."

"We were disappointed with their goal - the defending was inadequate - but from our angle it was a corner, and they scored from the dead ball. After that we were the better side, and the players all stood up to be counted. We played the better football, created the better chances and deserved the victory."

"Felix finished his chance fantastically well after Rooney put over a great cross. Jamie Lowry put a great through ball in for the second goal, to split the defence, and Jamie Ward finished it nicely. I was pleased for Jamie Lowry because he recovered from a bit of a sticky start- he hasn't played right-back for a while."

"Roche pulled off the save of the match at the end. The resulting rebound was put in by the hand of their Captain and that would have been a bitter pill to swallow but the referee spotted it, so we'll forgive him the lack of a corner in the first half!"

"The only sour note is the injury to Jack Lester. It looked like a reckless challenge from the side and it looks like it could be a bad one - he's got a nasty gash down the back of his leg."

Speaking after picking Jack up from a local hospital, Lee Richardson added that

"We've had an initial x-ray that hasn't revealed any break, but hairline cracks sometimes only appear up to forty-eight hours after. We'll have more scans and x-rays on Monday and Tuesday and we'll know more after those. The damaged area is the lower part of the shin and ankle, where the Achilles is; he's got stud marks all down his calf. There may be some ligament damage but we won't know the true extent until Tuesday of next week."
