Again it was question of us gifting Tranmere a foothold back in the game by giving them a penalty in the first half. There wasn't too much we could have done with their second goal the finish was crisp and difficult to stop from what I think was their only shot on target in the second half. I think we deserved much more from the game we were the better side in the second half and but for their goalkeeper we would have had a couple more goals.

Tranmere dominated the first twenty minutes or so without really troubling us. We got the goal and grow in confidence and got better and better. Yes Jack missed a penalty I am not so sure it was from where I was, but there appeared to be a clear one a few minutes earlier, so perhaps the referee was even things up.

The problem we  continue to have at the moment is that we need to score three goals to win games. But we have to take the positives we played a team who are doing well in League One and we more than matched them and coped well with the FA Cup ball. I have said before this ball is ridiculous and some plastic affair and who decides we play with a different ball makes no sense. Its very light and I am sure the crowd think the players have lost the ability to pass and control the ball at times with it bouncing all over the place.

We also now have a few injury problems Jamie Ward injured himself in the warm up by over stretching. Aaron Downes also  looks he might also be struggling after that leg breaking challenge from what  was virtually a carbon copy of the tackle in the Celtic game in midweek. It was a horrendous challenge and worthy of a straight red and not a second yellow in my opinion.

So we have a break now and it gives us a chance to take stock and the players will have a chance to rest.
