LEE: WE WANT TO DO WELL
LEE RICHARDSON spoke to SPIREITES WORLD about team selection prior to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Hartlepool United. Read the highlights here.
"It's a competition we did well in last season and we want to do well again. We have a tough test against Hartlepool and we're looking forward to it. We have three long term injuries, and on Saturday we picked up a few more. Phil Picken got a knock on his ankle, Jamie Lowry has severe blistering and Alan O'Hare picked up an ankle injury also. Added to the Georgos Santos has got a slight injury.
We need to make sure that six of the starting eleven play and it's only just going to be achievable".
"We have a squad and it allows me to use it, we went to Oldham last year and won and we hope to do the same. It'll be a youngish looking squad but one that wants to do well in this competition"
"Hopefully the future fans will see the emergence of our younger players and see some flair from our younger players".
"It's not the league we are aware of that and I'm sure Hartlepool want to do well. We nearly got their last year but that's a long way off at the moment and hopefully our good run will continue".
