" We've lost Jamie Ward from Tuesday night but we have signed Nicky Travis from Sheffield United. We've also released Paul Shaw from his contract. Nicky is someone we have been aware of for a while and we sorted the deal quite quickly after Tuesday night. Nicky is a utility player in all fairness but I've seen him upfront in the reserves and that is what we have in mind.

As regards to Paul Shaw we had a chat pre-season as to where we are and I felt that I could only play him in midfield but we brought in Peter Leven and Jamie Winter and we wish him all the best".

" We are trying one or two things and we know it has to improve and it's certainly something in our minds. Last season with Brighton and Bournemouth those two games were pivital towards our relegation last term with those sides coming to defend and we are well aware of what we need to do. Home form is vital and the support can go along with that".
