MANAGER Lee Richardson talks to SPIREITES WORLD prior to Saturday's trip to Chester. Read a brief summary here.

It's the start of a new season, pre-season preperations are over it's the real world and it starts Saturday at Chester.

It does and let's hope we can get off to a good start. There's been an air of excitement in recent weeks and and Saturday is where it begins.

Do you know what's going to be your likely line up?

We have Gareth Davies (broken toe), plus Paul Shaw (throat infection) who is doubtful, but apart from that, we have a full squad and hopefully we'll put out a side which is capable of getting three points.

Any pressure?

The main pressure is for us to win on Saturday and get a good start to he season.  We can only deal with the here and now and we want to win on Saturday. I have set the players targets but I'm not going to make them public.  We have incorporated those targets into the bonus system as an incentive.  I know it's a bit of a cliche but we want to win one game at a time and want to have a successful season.

For Lee Richardson you are now the manager and it's your team and if things go wrong your the man for the chop.

Yes and I believe I am the right man, I know whats expected of me and I hope I can put things into place but I'm under no illusions of the pressure of the job. I don't expect anything to be any different here and I understand the frustrations of the supporters and we are determined to be successful. Last season we had a good start but look where we ended up, I know a good start is achievable but we need to be patient.

How is the blend of your squad?

Good, it's such a long process, if we win on Saturday it won't guarantee success and we hope to build on that as the season progresses as all supporters know things happen during a season so we need to be on our guard. I'm confident in the players and the staff and let's wait and see what happens on Saturday and let's take it from there.
