Jamie Hewitt - physioAt the time of writing these notes on the morning before the LDV Cup game against Macclesfield there has been little activity in the treatment room since my last notes which seems like a very long time ago.

Having a two week break from competitive matches has given us some time to get some of the injured players back and also some players suffering from minor knocks and injuries the chance to get back to 100% fitness.

Firstly, Steve Blatherwick who has been suffering with slight injury to his lower back. This has been on and off for some time, not enough to stop Steve from playing but it did hamper his training so with this opportunity of a break Steve was sent to see a specialist in Leicester and has undergone eight courses of injections and is now 100% fit and feels a lot better.

Gaz Davies had the same problem as Steve which caused him pain in pre-season but had got quite a lot better until he felt it about three weeks ago.  Gaz underwent the same treatment as Steve and now feels totally better.  Both Steve and Gaz are now in full training with the rest of the squad.

Aaron Downes who's ankle injury has taken a little longer than first thought. Over the past couple of weeks we have seen some good improvement and Aaron is due to see a doctor this week and hopefully he will be given the all clear to resume some training with the rest of the squad.  Aaron's fitness should not be a problem as his running and fitness program has gone very well.

The only new injury to report is to Caleb Folan. In the couple of weeks break in a practice match Caleb sustained an injury to his hamstring while sprinting for a ball. After some initial rest the injury has settled down but is still painful for Caleb.  His rehab has started with static bike work and a stretching program if everything goes well we should progress to see some straight line jogging in about a week's time.

And finally the good news that Alex Bailey who has been sidelined since the first game of the season. Alex is back in the first team squad after full training for three weeks and three practice matches Alex was on the bench for the 0-0 draw at MK Dons coming on for the final 30 minutes.
