SPIREITES INJURY WOE
Only two games into the new season and already three key players are out injured.
Missing from the midweek game against Brentford were Alex Bailey and Gareth Davies.
The specialist has recommended that Alex required a pot on his knee for three weeks, which probably means he could be out for up to five weeks.
Alex first picked up his injury with a knock on his knee during pre-season.
Gaz Davies picked up a groin type strain following the first game of the season at Blackpool and could be out for a couple of weeks.
During the match against Brentford, Aaron Downes limped off. He turned his ankle during a rather heavy tackle on a Brentford player and could be out for at least two or three weeks.
An x-ray has revealed that nothing is broken though.
On the positive side, the injuries have meant an earlier than planned return for midfielder Derek Niven and defender Alan O'Hare
despite playing little part in public pre-season games.
Although they tired during the Brentford game on Wednesday night, Derek completed a full 90 minutes.
Alan, coming on as a first half subsitute for the injured Aaron Downes, completed two thirds of the game.
The bonus is that both came through unscathed.
As for the rest of the squad, well just the usual knocks and niggles that a bit ot TLC will help cure.
