In my notes today I am going to have a brief recap from the treatment room so far.

jamie HewittAs far as major injuries this season we have only had two long term injuries, first and most serious was to Kevin Dawson. Everything was going well for Kevin in pre season, playing in most of the pre season friendlies and not missing a days training. Kev was looking fit and sharp to start the new season until a bad injury in a normal training session.  As he went to cross a ball felt a sharp pain at the top of his thigh. After a good rehab program Kev was feeling fit and well and went back into light training only to feel his thigh again. After this he was sent to a specialist for a MRI Scan. This revealed that Kev had pulled the muscle away from the bone were it is attached to the top of the thigh. After some rehab and a lot of hard work on Kevin's part, he has now been back in training for a few weeks completing one reserve match with no more problems. Hopefully he will now continue to progress and be back fighting for a first team place very soon.

The only other major injury was to Caleb Folan who had a Hernia operation in September. This had been niggling Caleb for some time and the decision was taken to have the operation as soon as possible. Caleb made a great recovery from the surgery and was back in training within three weeks.

The only other real problem was Derek Niven who has had a recurring ankle injury.

Derek has worked very hard to strengthen this and hopefully this will see him through the rest of the season with no further problems.

Derek works on his ankle every day along with Mark DeBolla and Alan O'Hare as the try and keep their ankles strong and help to prevent injury.

As we now go into the New Year lets hope all the squad stay fit and we keep up the good form that we have shown this season.

Finally I would just like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
