Spireites manager Roy McFarland spoke to Geoff Mitchell for Spireites World after the Tuesday nights game

What's the situation with Steve Blatherwick?

He went off to hospital for an x-ray. He was concussed, and that's why the players shouted us and the doctor on straight away. He was knocked out, but the pleasing thing is there's no breakage to the cheekbone; it'll just be bruised, so we expect Steve to be back in about a fortnight's time.

How did it happen?

He didn't shout and Alan didn't shout and in attempting to head the ball, they collided. At least they're competing! I've said to them that as long as we're competing it doesn't matter who heads that ball, and we're going to get a few cuts and bruises. But we should have been better there - a good shout clears the danger and Blathers comes and heads the ball away. Whose fault was it? We'll suss that out later on, probably.
