With the Easter period just past we have been very busy with our holiday courses.  Normally we hold the courses at Holmebrook Valley Park but we decided to branch out to different areas of Chesterfield which was a huge success!!  The first course we held was at St Mary's Upper School which had 40+ children attending which is a very good number for an Easter course with the second course attracting 50+ children which was once again a fantastic number of children attending.  Both tournaments were tense finishes with both ending in penalty shoot-outs.  We would like to thank everyone for attending the courses and hope to see you again. 

Our Holiday Club held at the social club was also a great success.  Last Friday some children went to Old Trafford on a ground tour which they thoroughly enjoyed with the other children from the club going to the cinema to watch Be Cool with all the children finding WWE star The Rock very funny.  Bookings are now being taken for the next half term holiday course which will run from Tuesday 31st May to Friday 3rd June.

Our Saturday Morning Club at Holmebrook Valley is going from strength to strength with an average of 80+ children attending every week!  Everyone at FITC is delighted at this average as it is the highest average per week I have known since I became Community Officer 5 years ago.  All I can say is keep on coming and have fun!!

I would also like to give my support to the Chesterfield Jnr Blues teams as we are now approaching the end of the season.  The Under 9's will have been crowned league champions if they won their last game this morning with the Under 10's and Under 11's still in with a fantastic chance of winning their respected leagues as well.  It would be great if they could make it an hat trick of titles!!

Finally I would like to take a trip down memory lane as it is FA Cup semi final weekend.  I'm sure I don't have to remind you of the club's amazing achievements eight years (does it really seem that long ago!?) ago in the tournament.  It is a memory that I will never forget and still to this day it sends chills up my spine when I think about it!!  Hopefully after the success of this season where the club have made massive progress, glory days like that day at Old Trafford isn't to far around the corner!!
