Just recently we held our holiday camp's at HolmebrookValleyPark. The tournament was a huge success with over 50 children turning up on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with 30+ children turning up for our first Toddlers camp on the Thursday. We were more than happy with these numbers especially the Toddlers camp as this was the first we have done.
The trophies which were handed out the winners, runners up and 3rd placed teams were handed out by Chesterfield FC stars, Alex Bailey, Aaron Downes and Jordan Fowler.
IMAGES FROM THE DAY
The kids were shocked and excited by this and the players were fantastic mixing with the children so a big thanks goes to them.Apart from the Holiday camps we ran our Holiday club at the social club which was also a huge success. We had 25+ plus children attending every day with the children enjoying activities like playstation 2's, table tennis, table football and arts & crafts. On the Friday the children enjoyed a cinema trip and bowling. All at Chesterfield Football in the Community would like to thank all the children for coming to our half term activities and making it fun and a huge success. If you would like to book your child now for our Easter holiday camps/clubs then ring our office or e-mail us
Other successes recently have been the growing number of children at our Saturday Morning Club. For this time of year the number of children attending the club is much higher than in previous years with an average of 50 to 60 children attending every week.Hopefully these numbers will sustain and with the summer just around the corner the club will continue to grow and grow.
A big thank you must go to Steve Coe of SBK Computers for sponsoring our trophies for the Holiday Camp's and in general being a major help for all Football in the Community projects.Steve has done a lot for us over the past few months including setting up a database for our mail out lists and Saturday Morning Club registers.Steve also made a £1000 contribution to the Community which was much appreciated.
Everyone at Chesterfield Football in the Community would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the Radcliffe family for their recent loss of Carl "Racko".He was very well known amongst fans at the football club as he was a true Spireite through and through!!He was a fantastic bloke and was also good friend of the Community staff with two of his sons playing for our Chesterfield Junior Blues teams.Once again our condolences go to the family in particular his wife Dawn and his sons.I think a lot of people reading this will agree that he will be hugely missed.
