The initiative is managed by Hollingwood After School Club.  This community group is a partner in the Football Club's community project, The Club's the Hub.  Much of the finance for the project has come from the National Lottery but other funding has been supplied by Staveley Neighbourhood Management Committee.

Activities at the project, aimed at eleven to fourteen year-olds, are centred around the new IT suite.  This setting offers the opportunity for research and homework but also games consoles and video karaoke.  In the summer months sporting activities are planned.

Greeting Andy and Caleb Peter Whiteley, Chair of the Hollingwood Management Committee, said, "I welcome the involvement of our friends from Chesterfield FC.  I am pleased that the Football Club is building links with community groups in this way"

Anita Jagger, project leader, explained that the Hangout was open every school day.  She added, "Whether young people want to play games, use the computers or just meet friends it is the perfect environment."
