Over the past week we've been busy concentrating on the work for the Children's Fund.  At the moment we are at Duckmanton, Poolsbrook, Staveley Junior, Speedwell, Holly House, Barrow Hill, St Josephs, Dunston, Eckington and Stubbing Wood.  After the first week all the children seemed to have enjoyed the activities.

Read on Write Away

At the beginning of the week the Read on Write Away bus came to the ground, we had a group of children up from Rother School.  This is a pilot scheme which has gone rather well with help from Sam Wright, Kate Barlow, Pauline Walters and myself.  We help the kids to write questions on the computer to put to the players who came to do a Q & A session.  I would like to say a big thank you to Mark Innes, Chris Brandon and Gareth Davies (pictured with the pupils and staff) for coming along and making the day extra special for the kids.

The weather is getting better each week now so if you like football give our Saturday Morning Club a try at Holmebrook Valley Park off Watermeadow Lane, Newbold.
