Posted on: Wed 17 Nov 2004
Chesterfield FC is giving more local youngsters a chance to play football with new junior football teams being set up for next season. Chesterfield's Football in the Community is adding to its existing Chesterfield Boys junior team and will now run three age groups, at Under 9, Under 10, as well as Under 11, in the Rowsley and District Youth League.
Local trials will be held in Chesterfield next Wednesday evening, 22 May 2002 from 6.00pm. For more details about the trials, and the venue, applicants should ring the Football in the Community office, on 01246 550930.
Depending on ability, youngsters will either be selected for one of the new Chesterfield Boys teams, or for the Saturday morning club. Youngsters who show some real ability will also get the chance to transfer to the football club's highly rated Centre of Excellence.

Football in the Community Officer, Andy Morris said: "This is another step in giving more local youngsters of all abilities the chance to play football, and the club a further chance to identify any able youngsters who could be the stars of tomorrow."
