The Spireites are hosting an innovative new course for 'new dads' and 'dads to be', which covers things a man should know about being a dad.

The course, which is being organised by Chesterfield SureStart in the Executive Lounge at Saltergate, is free and covers a range of fun activities about basic baby care in 2 hour sessions from 4.00pm to 6.00pm each Thursday for the next five weeks.

Together the course will explore the greatly important role a father has in their baby's life.

It will cover:- baby's growth and development, impact of a baby on relationships, coping with post-natal difficulties, baby's safety, real support for dads, and looking after baby 24/7.

If you would like to meet other dads, or dads to be, to increase your skills in caring for your new member of the family then "Daddy's Do Care!" is the course for you.

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson, who is himself the proud new father of a little baby girl, said: "The support that new dads require can sometimes be forgotten in all the excitement so this course should prove very helpful."
