Two of Chesterfield's current players have been called up for international duty later this month. 

On loan striker Adam Rooney has been called-up by the Republic of Ireland for the U21 European Championship Qualifier against England at Turners Cross Stadium, Cork, on Tuesday 16 October 2007, kick-off 8.00pm.

Also called-up to play for his country, if fit, is striker Jamie Ward for the Northern Ireland U21 European Championship Qualifier against Israel at Mourneview Park, Lurgan, on Wednesday 17 October 2007, kick-off 5.00pm. 

Chesterfield's livewire striker, who has been out injured for seven weeks with a hamstring injury, had a scan this week, which has confirmed he can return to full training.  A decision on his release for international duty will be taken later.
