Over the last few weeks the Centre of Excellence squads played Mansfield and Scunthorpe. The under 16s have performed very well over this period of time. The Under 16s are defending very well because they are gaining a better understanding of what we want from them and how to defend properly. The players are playing some good football but also making it very difficult for there opponents to break them down. The whole team realise that we defend from the front first and stop the opposition from playing by closing them down quickly. This is why teams are finding the 16s difficult to beat because they are defending as a team not as individuals. This group of players are willing to work hard for one another, this is why they are dominating teams at the moment. Hopefully this squad of players can keep this level of consistency through out the season.

Some of the Centre of Excellence squads are performing very well and some are still finding there feet. Sometimes it takes up to Christmas for some of the teams to gel together, hopefully they are still absorbing the information that there coach is feeding them. The new intake of under 10s have displayed some good performances over the last few weeks and are performing well. At this age we look at how the players perform individually and as a team rather than look at the results. Obviously both performance and results become important because results do breed confidence.
